The samples below show results from a good photo and an improper photo.

If you have a photograph, please scan it using a common PC image scanner or submit your images from digital cameras.  If you are using a scanner, set it to 300dpi. Normally the size of a face in a traditional photograph should be larger than a quarter.  If you put a quarter over an individual face in a source photo and you cannot see the face, the image is too small and will result in a blurred image in the crystal.  Small GIF or JPG files of less than 50kb are usually too small to use and will not produce a good engraved image.

Images for Crystal Portraits or Presentations need to be the same size as the crystal size.  A 3.5" x 5" image should be taken from an image that is about 3.5" x 5" or larger or come from a digital image that is at least 100kb or greater, preferably 250kb in size.  A 5" by 7" crystal needs to come from images that are at least 3" x 5" and the file size should be at least 500kb or larger.  We cannot use images that are less than 100kb for Crystal Portraits or larger Presentation Crystals.

Don't use photo's that are over or under exposed (too bright or too dark)

Please avoid pictures that have shadows on the faces

A picture that is faded, blurry or fuzzy.

A picture with speckles, scratches, blemishes, folds or tears.

Do not scan a picture that is printed on non-photographic paper, only scan photos that are printed on good quality photo paper.

The laser etching process uses a computer guided laser to precisely etch 3D images within optically perfect laser crystal.  Initial efforts produced 3D images etched inside a solid piece of optically perfect laser crystal.  Refinements have added 2D images (pictures of people or things), text, 3D heads & busts and other 3D objects (Disney© characters, Dr. Seuss© characters, buildings, autos, planes, etc.)  Additional advancements created our latest offerings, 2 1/2D sub-surface laser engraving.  2 1/2D is a unique merger of 3D and 2D laser etching which produces the highest quality laser engraved image with unmatched quality and clarity. 

Our 3D scanners are can capture one or more person's head and shoulders and then the images are etched inside solid optically perfect crystal.  You can also provide us with traditional portrait photograph which we can convert into a 3d head image.  Optic crystal is known as the most perfect crystal and is the whitest crystal.  Optic crystal must not have any imperfections that could cause a low quality image.  Crystal Magic only offers the highest quality optic crystal and therefore the resulting images are of the highest quality.

Our management team has more than 100 years of experience in developing, managing and operating venues in theme parks, casinos and other world famous tourist attractions.  Our technology team has over 100 years of combined experience.  Our products are manufactured at production facilities in Orlando, FL and Anaheim, California.  

We opened our first retail location at Walt Disney World's Epcot© theme park, Orlando, Florida in 1999.  This was the first location in the world to etch a person's face in a crystal within minutes after taking a digital photo of the customer.  We currently have multiple locations at Disney parks in both Florida and California and continue to open additional locations.  We opened at Universal Studios parks in Orlando  in 2000.  Our first international site opened at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan.  Multiple partner locations are now opened in Las Vegas.  We have etched over 1,000,000 faces.
